Peter Davys, managing partner of Orrest Business Solutions and a well known figurehead in the UK chemical industry has been recognised by Len Jennings, outgoing President of the Oil & Colour Chemists Association (OCCA), with the awarding of the President's Medal for his contribution to the association and the coatings industry in general.

As an active committee member of the OCCA Manchester Section, Peter has been heavily involved in the development of training plans within the coatings industry, the development and expansion of the OCCA Manchester Section and the continuing success of Surfex, the UK exhibition for the surface coatings, printing inks, adhesives, corrosion and construction communities.

Seen here on the left with Peter, Len Jennings commented "Peter has contributed significantly towards the education and training of professional and technical people operating within the Coatings industry through his involvement with Proskills and also with the British Coatings Federation, whilst his sheer enthusiasm and hard work that he puts into OCCA Manchester Section is also recognised, especially in helping to develop and maintain an interest in science amongst schoolchildren by organising visits and demonstrations of the benefits that science has brought to our way of life. Finally, your major contribution to the success of our recent Surfex exhibitions has been noted and recognised. Again, it is not so much the work in itself, as the drive and enthusiasm that you bring to the business of selling the concept of Surfex that is so well merited. Without it, Surfex and OCCA would be the poorer."
